In our installations since 2008, repeated hard slams are a common reason for latches and strike plates drifting out of alignment. When that happens the lock motor has to push harder to throw the bolt, and batteries tend to drain faster. This is what we see on site, not a lab test. Who needs a door closer, and who does not

  • HDB or condo main door, kids, helper or elderly at home: recommended. It removes the risk of a door left unlatched.
  • Main door that slams in corridor wind: recommended. It protects the latch, strike plate and lock internals from repeated impact.
  • Everyone in the home always pulls the door shut: optional. Your digital lock works fine without one.
  • Door wider than 950mm or heavier than 65kg: not suitable for our closer. Message us and we will advise.
  • Office or shop door in wood or metal: suitable within the same width and weight limits.
