A Smart Retrofit for Your Existing Door or Gate
The Aqara U200 is designed to install directly over your existing HDB gate or door lock hardware, without drilling and without replacing the original structure — a genuinely different installation approach from most smart locks, which require a full mortise swap. That matters if you're renting, or simply don't want to commit to permanently modifying your door or gate to fit a smart lock.
Ways to Unlock
Apple Home Key, fingerprint, PIN code, NFC card and app control are all supported, with temporary passwords available for guest access and a mechanical key kept as an emergency backup for the times the smart features aren't the right tool for the job.
Quiet Mode and Passage Mode
Quiet Unlock Mode reduces operating sound for discreet entry at night — useful if a bedroom sits near the front door and you don't want the motor noise waking a light sleeper — while Passage Mode lets the door stay free-entry for a set period, handy when you're hosting and don't want guests waiting at the door for someone to let them in. Do Not Disturb Mode adds an extra layer of privacy control, and anti-peep PIN protection and a detailed access log round out the software side.
Weatherproofing & Operating Range
Rated IPX5 for water resistance, the U200 is built to keep working from -18°C to 66°C — a wider range than Singapore's climate will ever actually demand, which is effectively a comfortable margin of reliability for a lock that lives outdoors on a gate.
Battery & Smart Home
The rechargeable battery lasts up to 6 months per charge (with AAA battery and hardwiring options also supported), and the lock is Matter-compatible, connecting to Apple Home and Google Home for wider smart-home automation without needing a proprietary bridge device.

For Aqara Home users, you can calibrate the lock either through the app by selecting 'Calibrate Lock' under settings or by holding the Set button on the lock for 3 seconds. Matter users can also hold the Set button for auto-calibration after installation.
The U200 uses Matter over Thread, enabling compatibility with major smart home platforms and reliable, secure connections.
If you're using the Aqara Home app, a hub isn't necessary but is recommended for full remote control. For Matter integration, a Thread Border Router that supports Matter is required.
Connecting the U200 to the Aqara M3 Hub enables automation routines, remote locking and unlocking, and future firmware enhancements.
While basic features like locking and unlocking are accessible through third-party platforms, the Aqara Home app is needed for advanced settings such as auto-lock, quiet mode, and spring pull adjustments.

Invite other Apple users to your Home in the Apple Home app. They will automatically receive a door key in their Apple Wallet once added.
You can unlock via Apple Wallet by selecting the door card and tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch to the NFC area. You can also use shortcut mode for quicker access.
Remove the Home Key from your Wallet and re-add it via the Home app. If problems continue, sign out and back into iCloud, or reset the lock and add it again.
Apple currently does not support generating temporary access codes through the Home app.
Try updating the firmware, creating a new Home in the Home app, resetting the HomePod, or checking for Thread support. Make sure the passcode is between 6-10 digits.
A smartphone is required for initial setup and pairing, but once configured, the lock can operate independently using the keypad, fingerprint, or key.
